Does Sesame Place have a branding problem? If as Seth Godin says “A brand is the set of expectations, memories, stories and relationships that, taken together, account for a consumer’s decision to choose one product or service over another” maybe they do, maybe they don’t.
Maybe they do if…enough of us decide to speak up, speak out, make a ruckus, rant & rave, choose to go somewhere else, stop buying sesame street toys, because the idea that the expectations, memories, and stories for young children are being steeped in racist behavior and contributing to the larger brand problem that America still has.
Maybe they don’t if… you decide it’s not your problem, so it’s not worth the effort.
